Description
Applications – Designed for storing and charging Lithium Ion batteries weighing up to 25kg, including power tools, gardening equipment, e-bikes, e-scooters, drones, laptops, and mobile phones. Refer to the capacity table for maximum storage limits.
Internal fire containment – Meets VDMA 24994:2024-08 certification standards with individual battery capacity of 2500Wh (BS1941-BS1945) to 2280Wh (BS1946), and combined storage from 2500Wh (BS1941) to 12500Wh (BS1945). Model-specific details available in the capacity table.
External fire resistance – Complies with EN 14470-1 testing standard, offering 90-minute protection from external fires. NT Fire 017-120p certified for 120-minute external fire resistance.*
Impact testing – Undergone fire and impact testing from 9.1-metre height to verify resilience against structural collapse scenarios in burning buildings.
Power supply – Charge your Lithium batteries safely using integrated power outlets – refer to table for specifications. Additional PDUs can be connected to the pre-wired control system. Consult your electrician to avoid overloading your 13-amp main circuit. Upgrades to additional 13 AMP supplies or Three Phase power available (price on application).
Air extraction – Standard equipment includes air exhaust ducting for improved ventilation. External ducting installation is highly recommended for optimal safety and fume removal during thermal runaway incidents.
Storage shelves – Includes reinforced, insulated, height-adjustable shelving with 100kg load capacity per shelf.
Digital monitoring and control system
Heat monitoring – Standard feature includes external temperature warning indicator that provides early detection of battery overheating risks. When excessive internal heat is detected, the control system automatically disconnects charger power and activates an alarm.
Access control alarm – Doors incorporate sensors that detect when left open. If doors remain unsealed, charging power is automatically cut off and an audible buzzer alerts users.
Building fire alarm integration – The control system interfaces with your building's fire alarm network to activate emergency protocols and notify the fire brigade.
Audio-visual alert system – Equipped with siren and strobe lighting that activates during overheating or thermal runaway events. Charging power is immediately disconnected and remains off until safe operating temperatures are restored.
Compliance labeling – Features warning labels compliant with ISO 3864 and ISO 7010 standards, as well as European directive 92/58/EEC.
Advanced locking mechanism – Features reinforced multi-point locking system that maintains door security. Doors remain sealed even during the most extreme battery explosion scenarios.
Build quality – Dual-wall safe design incorporating our proprietary Styronite F insulation, delivering exceptional structural strength and thermal resistance for optimal protection against internal explosions during thermal runaway.
Wheeled base – Facilitates easy movement and building evacuation during fire emergencies. The plinth includes a front panel for a professional finished appearance.
Warranty protection – Comprehensive two-year coverage for materials and labour.
Lock configurations
BS1940K – Features premium key-operated locking mechanism supplied with two keys.
BS1940E – Equipped with advanced electronic security lock featuring LED interface, dual control functionality, concealed code option, and scrambled code programming. Upgrade options include multi-user audit trail capability for usage monitoring.
BS1940F – Features advanced touchscreen keypad and biometric fingerprint lock with LED display, battery status indicator, internal alarm system, multiple user codes, dual mode operation, concealed and scrambled code options, supporting up to 32 fingerprint registrations.
