The Phoenix Battery Commander Pro BS1945 is a large-capacity lithium-ion battery storage and charging cabinet designed to provide a secure and controlled environment for businesses storing and charging rechargeable batteries.
As a Size 5 Battery Commander, the BS1945 provides a substantial 12,500Wh battery capacity and 307-litre storage capacity, making it particularly suitable for workplaces that need to manage larger quantities of lithium-ion batteries.
The cabinet is certified to VDMA 24994:2004-08 by ECB.S, providing an independently tested solution for organisations looking for dedicated lithium battery storage and charging protection. The cabinet has been fire and impact tested from 9.1 metres, helping to demonstrate its resistance to the impact associated with falling through burning floors in a building.
The BS1945 is fitted with a choice of lock options allowing access to the stored batteries to be controlled. It also incorporates five 4-gang PDUs, providing multiple power points for safely charging compatible lithium-ion batteries inside the cabinet.
Lithium Battery Fire Protection
Lithium-ion batteries can present a significant fire risk if damaged, defective, exposed to unsuitable temperatures or affected by thermal runaway. The Battery Commander Pro range has been specifically developed to provide dedicated storage and charging facilities for lithium-ion batteries.
The BS1945 features a double-wall cabinet construction, reinforced and insulated shelving, ventilation and integrated safety features designed to help manage the risks associated with lithium battery storage and charging.
The cabinet is supplied with an air exhaust duct for added ventilation, dedicated ducting to the outside is also strongly recommended to provide additional extraction in the event of thermal runaway.
